Over several yearly editions of Poor Richard's Almanack, Benjamin Franklin recorded several wise sayings from his era, such as "Well done is better than well said", "What you would seem to be, be really', and "A true Friend is the best Possession." Of course, not all the sayings here are original with old Ben, but he usually gave proverbs from other sources a flavor all his own.
